Keeping Healthy Hair Care Tips For Men

A good hair care routine is one that's simple and effective. Arming yourself with the right tools and information about the chemistry of hair care is the best first step. No matter what hair type and texture you have, you'll be able to perform your routine quickly and have great-looking hair.

It’s amazing how many ads for shampoos and styling products you see on television that claim to promote “healthy hair!” Let’s get real, people! There is no such thing as “healthy hair care.” Hair is basically made up of  protein and keratin. The hair itself has no blood supply and no nervous system. Hair is not alive, so it cannot be “healthy.” Because hair is not a living structure, it cannot repair itself and must be maintained properly to preserve strength, elasticity, and shine. Some shampoos and conditioners claim to “repair the damage” to your hair. They simply cannot.  The first step in maintaining healthy looking hair is to maintain a healthy scalp.

If you are a man, you must know that the silky and shiny hair care, shown in movies and advertisements, are a result of hair care or a lot of chemicals that can eventually spoil the hair. Pollution and chemicals can affect your hair in a similar fashion, whether you like it or not. You will see that even when your hair is comparatively stronger, you need to take care of it to keep it healthy.

Apply Shampoo

Apply Shampoo Fan of hair care wax but struggle to get it out of your hair? Here’s a great tip from Head & Shoulders Style Director Michael Douglas: “The best way to deal with wax is to apply shampoo directly to dry hair and rinse, then follow this with another application of shampoo.

Avoid Over Washing

Avoid Over Washing According to barber and men’s grooming expert Carmelo Guastella, a common mistake men with dry and coarse hair make is over-washing it.“If that’s your hair type limit washing to once or twice a week and always apply a conditioner,” he advises. “Washing it every day will just make it even drier. If you reduce washing and use a conditioner the result will be smoother, healthier looking hair.

Choose shampoo

They're not all created alike. Choose products that work well with your hair care type so your hair will look the best it can be. If possible, go for sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner these ingredients are hard on hair and cause it to look dry and dull over time. Check the label. Here's a short guide to what products work well with what hair types.

Make Hair Grow Faster and Stronger

Eating well, drinking plenty of water, taking vitamins, getting plenty of sleep, and living a stress free lifestyle will promote faster growth of the hair. The hair care is often a reflection of the entire body. A body that is healthy and well maintained will likely have hair that is strong, shiny, and “healthy looking.”

Wash your hair

Wash your hair two or three times a week You might think it's healthy to wash your hair daily, but that's actually too often for most people. Washing your hair care too often strips your hair of protective olive oils naturally produced by your scalp, leaving it more prone to getting frizzy and frayed. For most men, two to three shampoos a week works best.
